Theodore Neil McLain, Jr. of Franklinville on Friday, February 19, 2021. Age 41. Father of Caleb McLain. Son of Stanley John & Sharon Ann (nee Bernat) Szumowski. Brother of Matthew Szumowski (Ashley Lynch, fiancée). Grandson of Thomas & the late Patricia Bernat and the late Dan & Alice McLain. Nephew of Tommy Bernat, Joseph Bernat, Joanne Marcellina, the late Barbara Keeny, and the late Mary Bernat. Cousin of Jenn, Heidi, Josh, Becky, Missy, Ricky, Joey, Felicia, JP, Kandice, Cory, Nikki, Andrea, Hannah, and the late Henry Spencer.
Born in Voorhees and a lifelong resident of Franklinville, Theodore was a 1998 graduate of Delsea Regional High School. He worked for a number of years as an Infirmary Technician at South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton. Theodore was proud of his service to the community as a firefighter with Janvier Fire Company and as an EMT with Ferrell Ambulance.
Theodore loved to read and enjoyed studying history, especially Western Civilization. He liked to learn different languages and was recently learning Romanian which was of particular interest since it was the homeland of Count Dracula. Theodore loved horror movies especially those directed by Rob Zombie with the Friday 13th franchise being his favorite. He enjoyed ghost hunting, going to cemeteries, and visiting closed-down prisons.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.
