SHERRI LEE CONTI – Obituary

Sherri Lee Conti (nee Garofolo) on Friday, August 10, 2018.  Age 51.  Mother of Anthony (Kristin) Flores, Nicholas (Chelsea) Fabrizio, Jessica Conti, and C.J. Conti.  Grandmother of A.J. Flores, Giovanni Garofolo, and one on the way.  Sister of Ronald Garofolo, Jr.  Daughter of Ronald and Barbara (nee Denofa) Garofolo.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Morrell Park section where she lived for many years, Sherri has been a resident of Clayton since 2004.  She was a 1986 graduate of George Washington High School in Philadelphia and worked for many years as a school aid at the Simmons Elementary School in Clayton.

Sherri was a talented country singer who, during her teen years, traveled around the country opening for a few well-known artists.  She also sang for Bandstand USA for many years.  Country music was a big part of her life.  Sherri was very involved in Clayton activities including the Clayton Clipper Midget Football and Cheerleading, the Clayton Special Events Committee, Soccer Association, Booster Club, Drama Club, and helped with the Autumn Run.  Sherri loved nature, was big into the outdoors, and enjoyed camping.  Summers at the beach in Margate or Ocean City were a favorite along with family barbeques.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
