Service Dogs Visit During Nurses Week
Nurses at the three Jefferson Health – NJ hospitals had a fun treat during Nurses Week : visits by service dogs, who showered them with affection and appreciation. On May 11th, Jefferson Health’s “Chief Compassion Officer,” a yellow Labrador Retriever named ‘Maggie’, visited nurses at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital. On May 10th, Magee Rehabilitation service dog, Oona, visited nurses at Jefferson Stratford Hospital. Maggie joined the Jefferson team in fall 2020. She has been trained to work in many settings and interacts with both individuals and groups, depending on the situation and needs. Here, nurses at the Cherry Hill ICU/step down unit pose with Maggie. Shown from left, Lauren Hirst, Deborah Dominy, Nurse Manager Donna Cybulski, and Anna Arnold.
