SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH – Franklin Township

On Wednesday, May 1st at approximately 10:34 am, Franklin Township Police was dispatched to the area of Main Rd. and Weymouth Rd. for a serious motor vehicle crash.  Joseph Booth III, 21, of Franklinville was traveling North on Main Rd. in a 2005 Mazda when he left his lane of travel and struck a tanker truck which was traveling South on Main Rd.  The tanker truck, which was carrying diesel fuel, was being driven by Thomas Miller, 61, of Bridgeton.  Miller did not sustain any injuries in the crash.  Booth was heavily entrapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle by Forest Grove and Malaga Fire Departments.  Booth was airlifted to Cooper University Medical Center in critical but stable condition.  Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.  The crash is being investigated by Ofc. Greg Halikman of the Franklin Township Police Department.
