SARAH A. WATERS MACCHIA – Obituary

Sarah A. Waters Macchia of Franklinville on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.  Age 96.  Wife of the late M. R. Waters, Sr.  Mother of Sarah A. Spotts, Georgeanna E. Harrison, Milton R. Waters, Jr., and C. Joyce Hopkins.  Grandmother of 18; great-grandmother of 28; and great-great-grandmother of 15.  Sister of the late Anna Mae Wagner and George W. Welzel.  Daughter of the late George William and Anna May (nee Cheesman) Welzel.

Born October 12, 1922, in Williamsport, PA, Sarah was a longtime resident of Stratford and later of Clayton and Franklinville while living with her daughter.  She was a member of the Franklin Township Senior Citizens Club and the Wilson Lake Senior Group.  Sarah enjoyed crocheting for many years until arthritis in her hands forced her to stop.  She also enjoyed adult coloring books, and if you knew her, you knew purple was her favorite color.
