Sara Jane “Sally” Williams (nee Hurley) passed away November 1, 2018. She was 81. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Don and Sons-in-law Ross Patton and Gene Bearer. She leaves behind her daughters, Ann Patton, Carol Williams, Jane Schurr (Tom), Cheryl McGonigal (Howdy), and Eileen Maguire (Ben), thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sisters Berenice Anderson and Kathleen Hurley, brothers John Hurley (Irene), Thomas Hurley (Sandy), and Frank Hurley (Regina). Many nieces, nephews, and cousins are also saddened by such a great loss of their beloved Aunt Sally.
At the tender age of 37, Sally’s husband passed leaving her to tend to their five daughters. She did this successfully while working full time as a receptionist in Philadelphia. Sally attended the Nativity Church in Franklinville where she was a greeter. She loved the people there, and had a great fondness for Father Jaromir.
Sally had a beautiful singing voice. Any given day you could hear her singing to her favorite musician, Josh Groban. His music calmed her and brought her peace. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Sally resided at the Clayton Mews for nearly 13 years. Previous addresses included Collingswood and Medford where she raised her family.
Awaiting Sally in heaven are her parents Charles and Sara Jane Hurley, sisters Mary, Florence and Dorothy, and brothers Chuck and Bill.
Sally will be sadly missed by all. We hope our Lord and Savior has mercy on her soul, and that she can finally rest in peace. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
Sally’s service will be held Saturday, November 17th at BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Visitation 11-1. Service to follow. Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
