SANDRA LOUISE MCANDREW (nee Griffiths)
Sandra Louise McAndrew, peacefully, on a sunny Saturday afternoon, December 16, 2023, while surrounded by her family. Age 76. Devoted wife of 54 years to Edward J. McAndrew, of Clayton, New Jersey. Loving mother of Edward J. McAndrew, Joseph M., and Stephen P. McAndrew. Cherished grandmother of Julia R. McAndrew and Thomas D. McAndrew. Beloved niece, cousin, and friend to many.
Born in Shamokin, PA, Sandy moved to Clayton, NJ as a young girl and never left. Sandy served for decades as a school aide at Clayton High School and was a lifetime parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena Church, where she volunteered for many years. In her younger years, she also volunteered on municipal boards and regularly worked elections in Clayton. Sandy cherished her summers at the Shore, and the many wonderful years spent with friends at Green Holly Campground and throughout Cape May County.
Sandy had a beautiful smile, time to chat with anyone, and – to borrow from her favorite Christmas movie – a Wonderful Life. The sadness at our loss is surpassed only by the joy, borne of our faith, that she will receive the greatest gift of all this Christmas.
Let the Christmas bells ring, for a beautiful angel has gotten her wings.
All who knew Sandy are invited to her viewing on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:30 AM, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, in Clayton. Graveside service and interment at the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown immediately following the Mass.
