ROSE VICTORIA LOCKMAN (nee Vaneman) – Obituary

Rose Victoria Lockman (nee Vaneman)
Mom

My Mom, Rose Lockman, was a phenomenal woman!  She was strong, smart, and hard-working!  She married my Dad, Wade, and started her life as an Air Force Wife.  I think they made quite a pair together and they enjoyed traveling the world.

We were lucky to live in Germany for 3 years where we lived off base and enjoyed the lifelong friends we made in Hermesdorf. Mom and Dad were able to visit their friends many times and host them when they came to America.  After my Dad passed away 30 years ago, my Mom continued to travel with friends and family. I would say travel and reading were her favorite activities!!

When my Dad retired from the Air Force after 20 years, he decided to go to college. So my Mom was off to work. She ended up in banking and loved her customers in Clayton, NJ.

When she retired from the bank my Mom, Dad, and brother John, started Deerfield Village Antiques in Deerfield, NJ.  She loved her business, down to fixing furniture. She also enjoyed helping people out when they brought in their miscellaneous items in need of some money. It didn’t really matter if she wanted the items, sometimes she just helped them out!

I will miss her so much, but I am hoping she will meet up with her pinochle-playing husband and they will partner up to be the winning team again!!!  I am so lucky to have the greatest Mom and Dad!  All my love, Joanne.

Rose is survived by her children, Nancy Shaw, John Lockman, and Joanne Enos, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Services were private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME.  Sign the guestbook at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
