ROSE D. LAMKIN – Obituary

Rose D. Lamkin (nee DiPietro) on Saturday, January 26, 2019.  Age 85.  Wife of 63 years to Donald G. Lamkin.  Mother of Katherine Stumm of Afton, TN; the late Susan Lamkin; the late Donald G. Lamkin, Jr.; John (Amy) Lamkin of Newfield; and Christopher Lamkin of Vineland.  Grandmother of Justin (Danielle) and Shawn (Nicole) [sons of John & Amy]; twins Kayla and Trista and also Lance [children of Christopher]; and Lily, Lilan, and Jason [children of Katherine].  Sister of Mary Davenport of DE; Frank DiPietro of Havre de Grace, MD; and the late Edith Cafolla.  Daughter of the late Frank and Anna (nee Sama) DiPietro.

Born and raised in Pennsgrove, Rose has been a resident of Franklinville for the past 50 years.  She was a 1951 graduate of Pennsgrove Regional High School and worked as a secretary for Community Furniture for 8 years and later as a municipal court clerk for the Township of Franklin for 20 years until her retirement in 2000. She was a devout Catholic and member of the Church of the Nativity where she regularly attended mass until her health made it impossible.  Rose was a simple and genuine woman who was always positive.  She was hardworking and dedicated to her family, who always came first, but she would help anyone who needed it.  Rose loved baking and will be remembered by her family and friends for the cakes she baked birthdays or other occasions.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Church of the Nativity, 2677 North Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ 08322.  Funeral Mass at 11:45 AM at the church.  Interment Saint Bridget Cemetery, Glassboro.
