Robert John Carder, Jr. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Age 71. Husband of 46 years to Frances Carder (nee Szumowski). Father of the Kathleen Walczak (Pawel) and Robert Francis Carder. Brother of William Carder. Son of the late Robert J. and Doris (nee Schaaf) Carder, Sr.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Bob has been a resident of Malaga for the past 46 years. He was a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia and worked as a mail clerk for the Veterans Administration in Philadelphia until his retirement in 2006. Bob was an avid Philly sports fan, especially the Phillies. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and going to Phillies and Flyers games. In his younger years, Bob was a member of the Aqua String Band in Philadelphia along with his father, mother, and brother. He was very much a history buff and loved trains, visiting the Strasburg Railroad annually, taking train rides whenever he could, and going to train museums. Along with his wife Fran, Bob enjoyed numerous bus trips over the years visiting quite a few states.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, April 12, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ. Funeral mass at 1:00 PM at the RC Church of the Nativity, Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, 2677 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ 08322. Entombment All Saints Cemetery & Mausoleum.
