ROBERT EDWARD STROH – Obituary

Robert Edward Stroh, age 81, a longtime resident of Clayton and recently of Shady Lane Nursing Home passed away on April 23, 2023. Husband of Barbara G Stroh (nee Griggs) for 56 years. Father to Brian and Gary. Grandfather (Pop Pop) to Ashley, Brittany, Kristen, Brian Jr., Brianna & Brandon, and the late Star. Great-grandfather to Rosalie.

Born in Haverstraw, NY, Bob was adopted at age 9 in New York City by the late Marion and Harold Stroh. He worked as a salesman for most of his life for Electrolux and Prudential Insurance and prior to his retirement worked as a professional chauffeur for Boston Coach. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime member/usher of the parish of St. Michael the Archangel (formerly known as Saint Catherine of Sienna) in Clayton. Bob volunteered for many years as a driver for the Clayton Ambulance Corps.

Bob was an avid bowler and traveled to many state and national Knights of Columbus bowling tournaments with his wife Barbara. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild Rosie.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral mass at 11:30 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 49 W. North Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
