RICHARD H. BURKE – Obituary
Richard H. Burke, 69 years old, of Machesney Park, Illinois, departed this life on
January 20, 2024 after a battle with cancer. Rick was born to Richard T. Burke and
Joan E. Costill Burke in Woodbury, N.J. After Rick graduated from Clayton High
School in 1973, he joined the U.S. Air Force. During his military service, he met
Misti Webster and they were married in 1975.
Rick was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1993. He served in various
countries and the states in military law enforcement. He went on to work for
Lowe’s, specializing in Information Technology and retired in 2019.
Rick was predeceased by his parents and survived by his beloved wife, Misti; his
daughters, Candice (Joshua) and Christi (Ronnie); grandchildren, Matthew,
Cameron, Jeremy, Zachary and Madison; his sisters, Nancy Eckler (Jack), Jane Lacy
(Nick Zinni), and Carol Bonser, and many nieces and nephews.
His family members will always remember Rick’s passion for Harley-Davidson
motorcycles, music, guitars and his bearded collie, Gandalf.
A service honoring the life of Rick will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at
the Honquest Funeral Home in Machesney Park, Illinois.
