PUBLIC NOTICE
SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY
The Township of Franklin Board of Education has an open seat, and is
seeking candidates to fill a one (1) year vacancy.
To become a member of a local board of education in New Jersey, you must:
- Be able to read and write,
and - Hold U.S. citizenship and one (1) year’s residency in the school district,
and - Be registered to vote in the district before filing the letter of interest,
and - Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board,
and - Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body,
and - Not simultaneously hold two elective offices,
and - Not be disqualified from membership for the conviction of certain crimes.
(Within 30 days of election or appointment to the board, a member must
undergo a criminal history background investigation through the state
Department of Education).

4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, to:
