With their sights firmly set on college, the 47 members of Our Lady of Mercy Academy’s (OLMA’s) Class of 2019, graduated on Thursday evening, May 23rd well prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead — and grateful for the spirit of sisterhood that has helped guide their hearts and minds over the last four years. Together, the class earned more than $8,000,000 in scholarships and 100% are moving on to higher education..
The evening’s ceremonies began with Baccalaureate Mass, followed by a reception for graduates and families before processing around the school grounds and into Carew Hall for graduation. “I have watched this class grow and mature into amazing young women,” said Mrs. Brooke A. Coyle, Head of School. “As individuals and as a class, they have contributed to the life of our school in so many ways. As students, athletes, artists, leaders, and in service to others, they have learned to listen and found their voices. As they move on to what’s next, I pray that they will always look for the positive, even in the most difficult of times. My hope is that they will continue to be the people who bring out the best in others as they have done here. I will miss each and every one of them, but take comfort in knowing that they’re ready for college and beyond.”
