OLGA MARIA ROKYTNYJ – Obituary

Olga Maria Rokytnyj (nee Romanov) on Sunday, September 2, 2018.  Age 68.  Wife of 45 years to the late Peter Rokytnyj.  Sister of Erika Deppenschmidt of Glassboro and Anna Greenfield of Sicklerville.  Aunt to Erika (Robert) Halpin of Carneys Point, Lisa (Henrik) Olsen of Glassboro, Peter (Jennifer) Greenfield of Collingswood, and the late Joseph Deppenschmidt.  Great-Aunt to Kevin Halpin, Alexis Halpin, Madison Olsen, and Katey Olsen.  Daughter of the late Peter and Franziska (nee Pletz) Romanov.
Born January 18, 1950 in Salzburg, Austria, Olga was 18 months when her parents emigrated to the United States looking for a better life for their family.  She lived in North Carolina and later Philadelphia before moving to Franklinville in 1959. Olga was a 1968 graduate of Delsea Regional High School and worked as a hair stylist for 50 years at Roseanne’s Beauty Salon in Hammonton.  She was very active with the Saint James Lutheran Church in Pitman, including serving on the Church Council, and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, embroidery, and ceramics.  Never having any children of her own, she took great pleasure being an aunt to her nieces and nephews and great-aunt to their children.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint James Lutheran Church, 400 Columbia Avenue, Pitman, NJ 08071.  Memorial Service at 12:00 PM at the church. Arrangements under the direction of BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to GoFundMe.com/aunt-olgas-funeral.  Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
