MYRTLE POORMAN – Obituary
Myrtle Poorman (Bensley) on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Age 89. Wife of 40+ years to the late Albert Poorman. Mother of Rob (Mickey) Poorman of Stroudsburg, PA and Donald (Elizabeth) Poorman of Washington Township, NJ. Grandmother of 6, and Great-grandmother of 4. Predeceased by siblings Marian Meyer, Joseph Bensley and Barbara Mager. Daughter of the late Roy and Julia (Dowling) Bensley.
Born and raised in Dingmans Ferry, PA, Myrtle has lived in Stroudsburg, PA, Clearwater, FL, and Brooksville, FL until her retirement. Most recently she had been a resident of Absecon Manor, Absecon NJ. Myrtle graduated from Dingmans Ferry high school. She worked for the Ronson Corp in Delaware Water Gap, PA for 20+ years. At age 50, Myrtle went to nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked as an LPN for Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL for 15 years until her retirement. She loved to bowl and enjoyed knitting and caring for others. Myrtle was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary in Stroudsburg and Brooksville, FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Memorial Service at 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A second visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Memorial service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Inurnment to follow at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
