MOTORCYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED IN MVC

On Sunday May 28th, 2023 at 6:07PM, Franklin Township Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Tuckahoe Road for a motor vehicle crash involving a Honda Pilot and a Harley Davidson motor cycle. Officers were advised that the driver of the motorcycle, James McPherson of Laurel Springs, suffered a serious injury to his leg. Officer Rambone arrived on the scene and applied a tourniquet to McPhersons leg. McPherson was transported to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital by helicopter. Investigation revealed that the driver of the Honda Pilot, Rolando Sotomayor of Vineland, was traveling south on Tuckahoe Road where he attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. While Sotomayor was making the left turn, he did not observe McPherson traveling north on Tuckahoe Road and both vehicles collided. Assisting at the scene was Forest Grove Fire Department, Star Cross Fire Department, Gloucester County EMS and Life Support. The accident is currently under investigation by Officer M. Neher.
