Monroe Mayor Dan Teefy Officially Kicks-Off Mayoral Re-Election Campaign

TeamTeefy2018 Will Offer “Trusted Leadership, Proven Performance and Solid Experience” as Campaign Platform

(Monroe Township, NJ) Monroe Township Mayor Daniel P. Teefy officially kicked off his re-election campaign for Mayor (2/12/18) by introducing his three Council At-Large running mates. Teefy will be joined by Council At-Large Incumbents Bob Heffner and Bart McIlvaine, along with new team member Jennifer Lewis-Gallagher to form TeamTeefy2018. Teefy, who is seeking re-election as Monroe Township’s Mayor, says that he and his team look to continue Trusted Leadership, Proven Performance and Solid Experience for Monroe’s Future – an ambitious agenda designed to keep the positive change ongoing for the Township. “As our Country becomes more concerned about the future, my focus has been and will continue to be about the residents of Monroe Township,” said Teefy.

“This campaign has to be about the future, it has to be about keeping the positive vision going forward. Our “Vision for Monroe’s Future” is going to concentrate on providing township services residents can rely on, continued infrastructure improvements and to provide leadership you can believe in, that is invested in our community.”

A 1978 graduate of Williamstown High School Teefy was elected to Monroe Township Mayor in January of 2015. He previously served on Council from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2006 to 2014. Throughout his public service career, Teefy has been lauded by residents for his ability to balance being fiscally conservative with social responsibility.

“As a Township elected official, we have obligations to provide the best services for our residents. My goal has always been to improve our services along with stabilizing taxes. Over the past 2 years the municipal tax increases of 1% and 0% have been the lowest in 10 years. Bringing new businesses to town, along with supporting existing businesses, will continue to be a key aspect for me as Mayor. Public safety is always a top priority, I have been able to increase our Police Force, restructure Ambulance, Rescue and Fire Services with little or no impact to the budget. Balancing these responsibilities takes proven leadership and experience that I am committed to providing.”

In selecting his running mates, Teefy said that he was interested in putting together a team with proven experience and commitment. TeamTeefy2018 is about what’s best for all Residents in our Town. Bob Heffner has been a seated Monroe Township Councilman since 2015, has served as Ordinance Chair, has been part of the Budget Committee and Planning Board as well as other Council appointed positions. Bob has demonstrated dedicated leadership and integrity during his time on Council. “Having the opportunity to serve my Township as Councilman At-Large is a responsibility I do not take lightly. We made tremendous strides during my time in office and I want to see the progress continue to move forward. There is still more work to be done and our team is the right one to do it”, said Heffner. Jennifer Lewis-Gallagher has a passion for the Town she grew up in. In joining TeamTeefy2018 Jennifer, who is a Solution Sales Manager brings a strong background in marketing, data analytics, strategic planning and contract negotiations. Lewis-Gallagher understands the pulse of the community and provides the diversity needed in public officials in the Township.

“In seeing what is going on in our community I felt it was the right time for me to get involved. Mayor Teefy has the Town moving in a positive direction. Joining with Bob, Bart and Dan who truly care for our community was an essential part in my decision to run for Council”, said Lewis-Gallagher Bart McIlvaine, Councilman At-Large since 2015,served as Council President in 2017. Bart’s leadership and compassion for his hometown has been a driving force during his time on Council. McIlvaine has served on various Council committees; he’s an advocate for public safety and providing the needed resources for our Township. “Serving on Council has allowed me to work at revitalizing our community by increasing public safety and welcoming businesses large and small to make Monroe Township a place you want to raise your family. As a lifelong resident, it is paramount to me to continue what we have started and forge forward with the progress we have made”, said McIlvaine.
