MELISSA JEAN SHUEY – Obituary

Melissa Jean Shuey, age 58, on May 7, 2026, in Clayton, New Jersey. She was the beloved mother of Scott Alan Ressler, Jr. and his wife, Victoria. Devoted grandmother of Daniel Ressler and Sarah Ressler, whom she adored deeply. Caring sister of Tamra Bowman, Deirdre Donnachie, Jannette MacDaid, Kerry Shuey, and the late James W. “Jimmy” Shuey, Jr. Melissa also leaves behind many treasured aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Born on January 26, 1968, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late James Walter and Norma Lee (nee Fisher) Shuey. Melissa spent her early years in Lykens, Pennsylvania, where she was raised alongside her siblings. She was a proud 1986 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School.  Melissa also made her home in Tower City for 8 years and Wiconisco for 15 years, Pennsylvania communities that remained close to her heart. Later, she spent two years living in Saint Petersburg, Florida with her brother before eventually settling in Clayton, New Jersey alongside her sister, Deirdre, one and a half years ago.

Melissa dedicated 32 years of service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she worked as a Payroll Specialist in Human Resources before retiring in 2020.

Melissa had a kind and generous heart and found great joy in caring for those around her. She treasured time spent with her family, especially her beloved son and cherished grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Melissa loved visiting with relatives, sharing lunches and laughter with her close girlfriends, and spending special days shopping with her mother. She also enjoyed taking walks with her dogs. A woman of strong faith, Melissa was a devoted member of Foursquare Church. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for family and friends will be remembered always.
