MARY F. JANVIER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AWARDED GARDEN GRANT

Mary F. Janvier Elementary School in Franklin Township is proud to announce that it was recently awarded a New Jersey Agricultural Society Learning Through Gardening grant.  This is the second grant of this type that has been awarded to Mary F. Janvier Elementary School.  As a result of the grant, Mary F. Janvier Elementary has received 3 additional 4’x8′ garden beds with related gardening supplies which include soil, plants, periodic delivery of seeds, 3 soaker hoses, children’s gardening tools, and classroom resource materials.  An informative workshop was also presented to staff members by New Jersey Agricultural personnel on the topic of effective instructional use of the gardens. Staff and students are excited about the educational opportunities that the gardens will provide!
