Mary Ellen Sibila, 81, of Pittsgrove Township, passed away peacefully at home with children by her side on Monday, December 17, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert, and her brother Thomas Smith, as well as her parents Russell and Anne Marie Gillespie. Survived and cherished by daughters Nadine Sibila of Pittsgrove and Betsy Sibila of Longmont, Colorado. Also survived by sister Catherine (James) Sullivan and brother-in-law Ted (late Elaine) Myszka and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Abbington, PA, Mary Ellen was a resident of Pittsgrove for over 50 years. She was a 1955 graduate of Clayton High School. Mary Ellen retired from the Pittsgrove Township Board of Education but prior to that enjoyed many years with Nick’s Pizzeria. Most recently she enjoyed her “CEO” position at Evergreen Court Adult Day Services, Woodbury.
Mary Ellen volunteered as a member of the VFW Post 2071 Ladies Auxiliary and the Willow Grove Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Years ago she was a member of the Triple Town Talkers CB Radio Club with the handle “Taxi Lady”. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and spending many years with friends and family vacationing at Lake Winnepesaukee, NH. Mary Ellen loved spending time with family and friends and helping others. Her life was all about being a Mom and was often a mom to others.
