MARINA ROSE GEMENDEN-SAUNDERLIN – Obituary

Marina Rose Gemenden-Saunderlin (nee George) of Franklinville on Sunday, April 4, 2021. Age 86. Wife of 38 years to the late Robert W. Gemenden and the late Arthur L. Saunderlin. Mother of Debbie Green of Franklinville and William E. Gemenden of Teague, TX. Step-mother of Arthur L. Saunderlin, II (Kathy) of Florida; Linda Stiles of Vineland; Brenda Seery (Michael) of Monroeville; and Lisa Bonsall of Pennsgrove. Grandmother of 16, and great-grandmother of 1. Sister of Peter George and Ellen Wetherall of England and the late Joseph George. Daughter of the late Percey E. and Edna May (nee Brown) George.

Born and raised in Caister-on-Sea, England, Marina met Robert W. Gemenden while he was stationed in England for the US military. They married in 1957, and she immigrated to the United States later that same year to live in Franklinville. After the death of Robert in 1995, Marina met and married Arthur L. Saunderlin in 2000 and moved to Pittsgrove where she lived until 2018 when she returned to Franklinville. During the time of raising her children, Marina worked in the cafeteria of the Caroline L. Reutter School, and over the years was a volunteer at Elmer Community Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and on Wednesday nights, the ladies in her family would meet to make lap blankets for people in the hospital and little hats for the newborn babies. Marina enjoyed going to antique car shows along with her husband Arthur often taking his 1936 Ford or 1959 Corvette.

Services are private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME.
