CARNEYS POINT – It is with deep sadness that the family of Marie “Jane” Jackson announce her passing on Friday, October 11, 2019, at age 77. Jane had been a resident of Southgate Health Care in Carneys Point for the past 2-1/2 years and had a great roommate, Lois. Prior to that, she had lived in Pittsgrove and Clayton. Always known as Jane, anyone that knew her knows of her love of horses. She enjoyed going to the Cowtown Rodeo and watching bull riding on TV. She also loved her Green Cheek Conure, Chance, and spending time with her family.
Jane did not have an easy life, but she was tough. She was abandoned as an infant by her birth mother. She was lucky to have the best mother enter her life and love her as her own, Sara Ferrell-Davis. Jane later suffered a tragedy by the death of her husband, Jack, two months before the birth of their son and yet again with the passing of her daughter’s father when she was 11 months old. As we said, she was tough and raised two remarkable children on her own.
Jane was a short-order cook at Angelo’s Diner in Glassboro for many years. She worked hard and never stopped and enjoyed her co-workers and customers.
Jane was the daughter of the late Lewis & Sara (Ferrell) Davis. She was also predeceased by her husband, Mathias Weber Jackson in 1963, her sister, Alice Davis in 2002, brothers Donald Davis in 2019 and Kenneth Davis in 2019, her great-grandson Jason Scott Loatman Jr in 2009, and her beloved bird Chance in 2019.
Jane is survived by her son Jim (Connie), daughter Joyce (Jim) Goldsborough, grandchild Brandy Loatman, Jim Jackson Jr and Jarrett Goldsborough, great-grandchildren Lexie & Reece Loatman, sister Perry Lou Terilla, sisters-in-law Marian “Dolly” Davis & Sandi Davis and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Relatives & friends will be received from 9:00-11:00am on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Barclay Funeral Home, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org (Click DONATE). Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
