LOUISE EVA GAMBINO (nee Asher) – Obituary

Louise Eva Gambino (nee Asher) on Sunday, April 16, 2017.  Age 72.  Mother of Joseph (Janet Meaney) Gambino, Anthony (Brenda Baker) Gambino, and Catherine (Jerome Johnson) Gambino.  Grandmother of Louise Gambino, Victoria Gambino, Daniel Freeman, Anthony Gambino, Craig Blackburn, Tomara Evans, and Kathleen Meaney.  Great-grandmother of Logan Gambino, Chase Evans, Ryan Evans, and Jeanne Meaney.  Sister of Donna Wallen and Alice Johnson.  Aunt to four nieces and nephews.  Daughter of the late Horace R. and Ruth B. (nee Falcon) Asher.

Born in Camden and raised in Almonesson, Louise was a resident of Woodbury for 9 years before moving to Franklinville 43 years ago.  She was a 1963 graduate of Deptford Township High School and worked for three years in the Trust Department of the First Camden National Bank and later for 28 years as a School Secretary for the Franklin Township Board of Education until her retirement in 2007.  Louise was active with the PTA for many years and also served as president of the local NJEA.  During her younger years, she enjoyed swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter at Sunset Beach Lake in Almonesson and often was dancing at the Sunset Ballroom.  In her later years, Louise enjoyed painting and sewing.  Her family remembers her as very organized and extremely intelligent.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Funeral service on Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
