Lorraine Anna Kreiner (nee Piontkowski) of Clayton on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Age 85. Wife of 24 years to the late Albert Theodore Kreiner, Jr. Mother of Cherylann Kreiner and the late Andrew Kreiner (surviving wife Dawn). Grandmother of Rachel Costa, Damon Kreiner (Samantha), and Cameron Kreiner. Great-grandmother of Sarah Hannigan, Sean Hannigan, and Linnea Kreiner. Sister of the late Robert Piontkowski. Daughter of the late Joseph J. & Frances M. (nee Garczynski) Piontkowski.
Born and raised in Philadelphia where she was a 1955 graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School, Lorraine has been a resident of Clayton since 1961. She worked for the United State Postal Service for 16 years, initially as a sorter/carrier and later as a window clerk, until her retirement in 2000. Lorraine was a longtime member of Saint Catherine of Siena R.C. Church in Clayton and sang in the choir for many years. She was instrumental in the start of the hot lunch program at Saint Catherine of Siena School. Lorraine was also a member of the Legion of Mary and a member of the Clayton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Lorraine enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting and was a talented cake decorator as well as a great cook. She made a pot roast “to die for” and the best chicken and dumplings. Lorraine also loved to get dressed up and dance whether it was ballroom dancing, the jitterbug, or a polka at church dances, fire company installation dinners, or at the Stardust Ballroom in Pennsauken.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.
