KRISTIN LEA MATHIESEN – Obituary

Kristin Lea Mathiesen (nee Cottelli), 56, of Franklinville, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by her family on August 3, 2026.

Kristin was born in Westwood, New Jersey, to her parents, Sharon and Hank Cottelli. She grew up in Egg Harbor Township and attended Holy Spirit High School, graduating with the Class of 1988, where she made many lifelong friends and cherished memories.

It was in Somers Point that Kristin met the love of her life, John, on a blind date. They later married and made their home in Franklinville. Kristin loved traveling the world, rescuing animals, relaxing at the beach, and, most of all, spending time surrounded by her family.

Kristin was a wonderful and devoted wife and mother to her six children. She could always be found volunteering at school events and enthusiastically supporting her children in their many activities.

Kristin is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, John; her six children, Gracie, John, Faith, Sarah, Molly, and Violet; her beloved parents, Sharon and Hank Cottelli; her brother, Brian (Cheri) Cottelli; and her nephew, Brian Cottelli Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the R.C. Church of the Nativity, 2677 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ 08322.  Funeral Mass to begin at 11:15 a.m. with interment to follow at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Williamstown.

Memorial donations in Kristin’s honor to continue her love and compassion for rescue animals may be made to the ASPCA via secure.aspca.org/donate/donate.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME in Clayton.  Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.

Sorrowfully submitted by the family.
