Rami Amer age 37, currently serving a sentence in Pennsylvania for multiple burglaries, was sentenced Friday, 2/1/19 in Superior Court, Woodbury by Judge Kevin T. Smith to 16 years in New Jersey State Prison.  Amer was found guilty by a jury on October 4, 2018 of committing 14 burglaries in Glassboro, Harrison Township and Deptford Township.

Amer burglarized Marino’s Pizza, Hello Gorgeous, Oscar’s Carpet One, Deluxe Nails and Sherwin-Williams on November 12, 2016 in Harrison Township. He burglarized Warren’s Hardware in Harrison Township on November 14, 2016; on November 20, 2016 he burglarized Pet Valu and Mullica Hill Nails and Salon in Harrison Township, Budd’s Pools and Young’s Cleaners in Deptford Township and Cricket Wireless in Glassboro. Amer also burglarized Village Bagels of Harrison Township and Salon Loyale of Deptford Township on November 21, 2016.

Assistant Prosecutor Bryant J. Flowers presented the case at trial, including evidence of  Amer breaking  glass doors to gain entry into the businesses and then taking items, to include cash and computers. Surveillance videos placed  Amer’s vehicle at the location of multiple burglaries.  Although Amer utilized clothing to hide his face from surveillance cameras, investigative efforts led to execution of a search warrant on Amer’s vehicle, resulting in the seizure of items linking Amer to the burglaries, including the hammer used to break the windows.

Prosecutor Charles “Chuck” Fiore praised both Assistant Prosecutor Flowers and the cross-jurisdictional teamwork between the Deptford, Glassboro, Harrison and Woolwich Police Departments which led to the identification, apprehension and conviction of Amer.
