Obituary for Jonathan S. “Spat” Spatafore
Jonathan Scott “Spat” Spatafore,46, a lifelong resident of Franklin Township, NJ died from injuries sustained in a collision on January 5, 2020 in Westville, NJ.
Jonathan was born on January 27, 1973 in Woodbury, NJ. He was the son of John “Sonny” Spatafore (deceased). Jonathan is survived by his mother Joyce Mazziotta Spatafore and brother Jarrod Spatafore. He was loved by his many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Jonathan graduated from Delsea Regional High School in 1991 and attended Rowan University. He worked at Del Monte Foods in Swedesboro and Albert’s Organics in Logan Township as a forklift operator. He was a gifted baseball pitcher who excelled on multiple levels. He played in the NJ High School All Star’s Championship game the Carpenter’s Cup and had a record for striking out four batters in one inning. He also gained the opportunity to pitch in games for Rowan as a Freshman. Jonathan enjoyed both freshwater fishing at local lakes and saltwater fishing. He also liked spending his time in the summer crabbing down the shore. His favorite sports team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He never missed watching them on Sundays and was seldom seen not wearing an article of clothing that proclaimed “Steelers Nation.”
