JOHN THOMAS NICHOLAS, JR – Obituary
John Thomas Nicholas, Jr., of Franklinville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was 61 years old. John was the beloved husband of the late Brenda (nee Risko) Nicholas, and devoted father to Stephanie Nicholas, Destiny Spasari (Nick), and Steven Weis (Tiffany). He was a proud grandfather to Zoey, Emma, Timothy, Nicholas, Claire, Lily, and Otis. John is also survived by his siblings, Evon Riggins (Jim), Patricia Coulter (Lewis), and his twin brother, Joe Nicholas. He was a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews: Michael, Paula, Jim, Rhonda, BJ, Dylan, Chelsea, Cody, and Ashley. John was predeceased by his parents, the late John Thomas and Sara Virginia (nee Tinley) Nicholas.
John grew up in Pittsgrove, NJ, where he was a longtime resident before relocating to Franklinville six years ago. A proud attendee of Schalick Regional High School, he spent his career in various industries starting with Durand Glass in Millville, NJ. Recently, he worked for five years with Tri-County Termites & Pest Control in Carneys Point, NJ.
In his personal life, John was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly hunting with both shotgun and bow. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and restoring furniture, often taking on new projects in his spare time. John especially treasured the time spent with his family, and his loyal dog Bobo was a constant companion on his hikes. Always willing to lend a hand, John was the kind of person who helped others whenever he could.
