JOHN EDWARD TAYLOR- Obituary

John Edward Taylor of Glassboro, NJ and formerly of Clayton, NJ passed away following a sudden illness on Sunday, June 5, 2022.  Age 70.

Born and raised in Millville, NJ, John moved to Clayton to raise his family and lived there until 2016.  He and Sharon, along with their three dogs, spent the past 6 years living in Glassboro.  John was a hard-working driver by occupation, but his true passion was in spicy food.  If you ever encountered John, you’ve either sampled or been asked to sample his award-winning hot sauce, jolokia hot pickles, habanero peanut brittle, habanero jellies.  He enjoyed sharing his love of these treats and could often be found at local festivals networking with the crowds.  John also enjoyed collecting and displaying his countless Santa Claus decorations.

Devoted husband of 46 years to Sharon (nee McGuire) Taylor.  Loving father of Kelly Davis (Brian), Melissa Isibel (William), Sarah Myers (Brian), and Emily Kohri (Ronald).  Proud grandfather of Kyle (Alexa), Declan, Hannah, Haley, Lucas, Drew, Dylan, Jake, Delany, Taylor, and Kelsey.  Son of the late Albert E. & Laura Evelyn (nee Wriggins) Taylor, and son-in-law of the late Delores McGuire. Brother of the late Leroy Veale Taylor and Robert “Red” Taylor.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312 with a funeral service beginning at 8:00 PM.  In keeping with John’s casual nature and his personal request, guests are encouraged to wear shorts and Hawaiian shirts or other casual attire with bright colors to celebrate his life.
