JOHN CHARLES RAMOS- Obituary

John Charles Ramos of Glassboro died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.  Age 88.  Husband of the late Teresa (nee DiSilverio) Ramos.  Father of Mark G. (Cindy) Ramos, Mary Jo (Paul) Ramos-Grossman, Michael (Rose) Ramos, and the late Lynne (surviving Jay) Fouhy.  Grandfather of Mark A., Angela, Austin, Anthony, Katherine Teresa, and Samantha.  Great-grandfather of Ava, Tony, and Tuscani.  Brother of Dennis and the late Bob Ramos.  Uncle to several nieces and nephews.  Son of the late John & Henrietta (nee Buemler) Ramos.  Also survived by many lifelong friends who he cherished deeply.
Born and raised in Gibbstown, John has been a longtime resident of Glassboro.  He was a 1947 graduate of Paulsboro High School and served briefly in the NJ National Guard before joining the US Air Force where he proudly served four years during the Korean War having been stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Korea.  John worked for 40 years with Atlantic City Electric as a helper, a lineman, and retiring as supervisor.  He was an active member of Saint Bridget’s RC Church and very active with the Knights of Columbus Assumption Council 3397 in Glassboro where he was Past Grand Knight and District Deputy with the NJ State Council.  In his younger years, John enjoyed fishing with his brothers.  He was a die-hard Eagles fan and loved his grandchildren and his Dewar’s.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, March 1, 2019, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Funeral service on Saturday at 11:00.  Interment private at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Knights of Columbus Assumption Council 3397, c/o The Newman House, 1 Redmond Avenue, Glassboro, NJ  08028.  Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
