JEFFREY JAMES BENNETT – Obituary

It is with great sadness that Kayah Bennett would like to inform everyone that Heaven has gained another angel. Her Daddy, Jeffrey James Bennett, passed away October 28, 2021 at the age of 38 after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia. She will forever miss being called his “Hunny Bunny”. The youngest son of Kathleen Bennett and the late Christopher Bennett, Sr., Jeffrey grew up in the Franklinville/Pittsgrove, NJ area. He was born March 5, 1983 and attended Franklinville and Pittsgrove schools graduating from Arthur P. Schalick High School in 2002.

Jeff joined the military in 2003 and quickly became known as Spec. Bennett aka “Skinny”. Shortly thereafter, he was deployed with 5/117 Cav. to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). This deployment was very lengthy and he was away from his family for many, many months. Those who knew him will always remember his “Skinny Feelings” and his love for music. Upon his return to the States, he became a Federal Tech at the CSMS-A in Lakehurst, NJ. He was the painter/body guy but assisted with so many more projects within the Allied Trade Department. His military family was a constant source of comfort during this final fight and were certainly his “brother’s in arms”.

Jeffrey is survived by his beloved daughter and love of his life, Kayah Bennett, his wife, Jennifer Turin Bennett, and her daughter, Bailey McGaha, his mother, Kathleen Bennett of Franklinville, his brother, Christopher Bennett, Jr. of Franklinville and his sister, Heather Schroy (Larry) of Winchester, VA, his aunts, Susanne Bell (John) of Jeannette, PA, Barbara Crescenzo (Warren) of Vineland, NJ, Mary Ann Franks of Newark, DE, Sandie Tenace (Daniel) of Beaver Dam, KY. his uncles, Michael Carroll of Kingsland, GA and Joseph Carroll of Franklinville. He is also survived by many cousins, his father’s recently found biological family (Bauerfeld) in the Lehigh Valley area and his extended military family especially Jeffrey Turner. Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, Christopher Bennett, Sr. in April 2021, grandparents Anna and Henry Carroll and Winifred and Eldridge Bennett, his aunt, Anna Marie Carroll and uncle, William Bennett.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 22 Richwood Road, Elmer, NJ 08318. In lieu of flowers, donations to offset funeral expenses can be made to Christopher Bennett, 601 Reed Avenue, Franklinville, NJ 08322. Sign the guestbook at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
