Beloved wife of 46 years to Edward McGonigle; devoted mother of Eddie McGonigle and Erin McGonigle; cherished daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (nee Corson) Gouge; loving sister of Karen Gouge, Jack Gouge and his wife, Kathy, and the late Barbara Bono and her late husband, Sonny. Janet will also be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, and many special, dedicated friends.
Born in Elmer, New Jersey, Janet was raised in Aura and graduated from Delsea Regional High School with the Class of 1976. She made her home in Clayton for the past 45 years, where she built a life centered on love, family, and friendship.
Janet dedicated 37 years of service as a Customer Service Associate at the Wawa in Franklinville, where she became a familiar and friendly face to coworkers and customers alike. She took pride in her work and formed many lasting friendships throughout her career.
Above all else, Janet loved and cared for her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, especially her beloved husband, “Eddie,” and her treasured daughter, Erin Lynn, who was truly the love of her life. She enjoyed listening to country music, gathering with family and friends, and sharing plenty of laughter over a cold beer every now and then. Janet loved playing games, especially Sorry, 31, and trivia, and cherished making arts and crafts with Erin. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, she faithfully cheered on the Phillies and the Eagles and rarely missed an opportunity to support her favorite teams.
