JANELLE ‘JAY’ MARIE MONTES- Obituary
Janelle “Jay” Marie (nee Zieber) Montes passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2020 at the age of 62 in her home. She was born on April, 7th 1957 in Oakland California’s U.S. Naval Hospital to Ruth (nee Meyers) and Daniel Zieber. She was the eldest of six siblings after her father remarried following the passing of her mother in 1969. She moved to New Jersey around the age of 17. She married Robert Joseph Montes on October 13th, 1979 in Milwaukie, Oregon. She earned her GED while raising her two children and worked as a bookkeeper until ending her employment with Roster Financial by leaving for medical disability in 1997. When she wasn’t working, Janelle enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to view the autumn foliage in New England, camping trips, playing guitar, practicing calligraphy, and watching movies.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert; her son Joseph Daniel, his wife Lisa Ann (nee Myckaniuk), grandson Logan Ryan and granddaughter Hailey Krystin; her daughter Jessica Dolores; her sister Gretchen (nee Zieber) Hofer, her husband Jason, son William Michael, and daughter Sarah Elizabeth; her niece Cheyenne and great-niece Rachel; her step siblings and their families; and the many people she called friends throughout her life. She is predeceased by her mother Ruth, father Daniel, mother-in-law Muriel, father-in-law Joseph, and sister-in-law Lisa.
A celebration of Janelle’s life will be held in her home at 41A Cottage Gate Road in Sicklerville NJ on March 21st, 2020 between 1 and 4 PM.
