Gloucester County updates on COVID-19

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services and Office of Emergency Management have announced 39 more positive COVID-19 cases in Gloucester County. As of Thursday, April 23, 2020 we have conducted 3,842 total tests. Of these cases, 2,919 have come back negative and 33 are pending. Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is 890.
The fourth Gloucester County COVID-19 testing date has been scheduled for Thursday, April 30. Scheduling for the Thursday, April 30 site will begin Friday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. Any calls before that will not receive an appointment. Residents 18 and older with symptoms of COVID-19 must call (856) 218-4142 to be prescreened. Please have your insurance information available at this time. Once prescreened, an appointment time will be scheduled.

The 861st case is a 30-year-old male from Washington Twp.
The 862nd case is a 28-year-old female from West Deptford.
The 863rd case is a 92-year-old male from Washington Twp.
The 864th case is an 85-year-old female from Deptford.
The 865th case is a 34-year-old female from Glassboro.
The 866th case is a 30-year-old female from Swedesboro.
The 867th case is a 68-year-old male from Deptford.
The 868th case is a 91-year-old male from Washington Twp.
The 869th case is a 22-year-old female from Paulsboro.
The 870th case is a 48-year-old female from South Harrison.
The 871st case is a 33-year-old female from Woolwich.

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.
At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
