Gloucester County Updates On COVID-19

  As of Thursday, May 21, 2020 Gloucester County has conducted 9,935 total tests. Of these cases, 7,923 have come back negative and 9 are pending. Two cases have been moved out of county.Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 2,003. Today, Gloucester County has an additional 34 cases to report. Of those cases:

  The 1970th case is a 67-year-old female from Deptford.   The 1971st case is a 47-year-old female from Greenwich Twp.   The 1972nd case is a 40-year-old male from Deptford.   The 1973rd case is a 26-year-old female from Franklin Twp.   The 1974th case is an 89-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1975th case is a 91-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1976th case is a 90-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1977th case is a 29-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1978th case is a 63-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1979th case is a 39-year-old male form National Park.   The 1980th case is a 94-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1981st case is an 87-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 1982nd case is a 55-year-old female from Franklin Twp.   The 1983rd case is a 70-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1984th case is an 82-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1985th case is an 82-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1986th case is a 41-year-old male from Deptford.   The 1987th case is a 73-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1988th case is a 90-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1989th case is a 70-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 1990th case is an 88-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1991st case is a 53-year-old male from Pitman.   The 1992nd case is a 45-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1993rd case is a 63-year-old female from Deptford.   The 1994th case is a 29-year-old male from Monroe Twp.   The 1995th case is a 59-year-old male from Mantua.   The 1996th case is a 77-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1997th case is a 46-year-old male from Glassboro.   The 1998th case is a 32-year-old male from Woolwich.   The 1999th case is a 46-year-old male from Glassboro.   The 2000th case is a 42-year-old male from West Deptford.   The 2001st case is a 53-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 2002nd case is a 62-year-old female from West Deptford.   The 2003rd case is a 61-year-old male from Franklin Twp.

  Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 2,003.   The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.   Gloucester County has confirmed that residents ill with COVID-19 have died. Gloucester County now has 129 confirmed deaths.   The 129th patient death was an 86-year-old female from Glassboro.  

At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity. Please note that the call center is not able to diagnose or give medical recommendations. Healthcare providers should be contacted if medical advice is needed. People should call their doctor or hospital before going so healthcare staff can provide instructions on getting care. Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
