Gloucester County updates On COVID-19

As of Friday, May 8, 2020 Gloucester County has conducted 7,038 total tests. Of these cases, 5,430 have come back negative and 14 are pending. One case has been moved out of county. Today, Gloucester County has an additional 40 cases to report. Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 1,594. Of those cases:


The 1555th case is a 26-year-old female from Westville.
The 1556th case is a 62-year-old female from Woolwich.
The 1557th case is an 85-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1558th case is a 56-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1559th case is a 26-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1560th case is a 58-year-old female from Westville.
The 1561st case is a 64-year-old male from Deptford.
The 1562nd case is a 73-year-old male from Woolwich.
The 1563rd case is a 37-year-old male from Clayton.
The 1564th case is a 69-year-old female from East Greenwich.
The 1565th case is a 56-year-old male from Clayton.
The 1566th case is a 53-year-old male from Monroe Twp.
The 1567th case is an 89-year-old male from Deptford.
The 1568th case is a 53-year-old female from Clayton.
The 1569th case is a 62-year-old female from Washington Twp.
The 1570th case is a 21-year-old male from Washington Twp.
The 1571st case is a 46-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1572nd case is a 42-year-old female from West Deptford.
The 1573rd case is a 41-year-old male from Deptford.
The 1574th case is a 54-year-old female from Mantua.
The 1575th case is an 85-year-old male from Glassboro.
The 1576th case is a 78-year-old male from Deptford.
The 1577th case is a 73-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1578th case is an 87-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1579th case is a 33-year-old female from Glassboro.
The 1580th case is a 22-year-old female from Washington Twp.
The 1581st case is an 87-year-old female from Washington Twp.
The 1582nd case is a 91-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1583rd case is a 78-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1584th case is a 45-year-old male from Deptford.
The 1585th case is a 21-year-old male from Monroe Twp.
The 1586th case is a 24-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1587th case is a 31-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1588th case is a 51-year-old from Deptford. Sex is unknown at this time.
The 1589th case is a 33-year-old female from Monroe Twp.
The 1590th case is a 45-year-old female from Pitman.
The 1591st case is a 5-year-old female from Woodbury.
The 1592nd case is an 89-year-old male from Deptford.
The 1593rd case is an 86-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1594th case is a 79-year-old female from Deptford.


The Gloucester County Department of Health is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had. Gloucester County has confirmed that several residents ill with COVID-19 have died. Gloucester County now has 74 confirmed deaths.
The 69th patient death was a 93-year-old female from Washington Twp.
The 70th patient death was a 75-year-old male from Deptford.
The 71st patient death was an 81-year-old female from Glassboro.
The 72nd patient death was a 101-year-old female from Deptford.
The 73rd patient death was an 81-year-old female from Deptford.
The 74th patient death was a 57-year-old male from West Deptford.


At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
