Gloucester County Updates On COVID-19

As of Tuesday, May 5, 2020 Gloucester County has conducted 6,365 total tests. Of these cases, 4,878 have come back negative and 17 are pending. Three Gloucester County cases have been transferred out of county.   Today, Gloucester County has an additional 38 cases to report. Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 1,470.

Of those cases:   The 1433rd case is a 62-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 1434th case is an 87-year-old male from Deptford.   The 1435th case is a 77-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1436th case is an 85-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1437th case is a 23-year-old female from Deptford.   The 1438th case is a 64-year-old male from West Deptford.   The 1439th case is a 33-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1440th case is a 58-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1441st case is a 32-year-old female from Westville.   The 1442nd case is a 66-year-old female from Woodbury Heights.   The 1443rd case is a 93-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1444th case is a 50-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1445th case is a 65-year-old female from Elk.   The 1446th case is a 98-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1447th case is a 43-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 1448th case is a 41-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1449th case is a 65-year-old male from Monroe Twp.   The 1450th case is a 24-year-old female from Clayton.   The 1451st case is an 83-year-old male from Logan.   The 1452nd case is a 23-year-old female from Deptford.   The 1453rd case is a 30-year-old male from Deptford.   The 1454th case is a 29-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1455th case is a 22-year-old female from Franklin Twp.   The 1456th case is a 22-year-old female from Woodbury.   The 1457th case is an 83-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1458th case is an 88-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1459th case is a 36-year-old male from Deptford.   The 1460th case is a 48-year-old male from Woodbury.   The 1461st case is a 30-year-old male from Glassboro.   The 1462nd case is a 20-year-old female from West Deptford.   The 1463rd case is a 21-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1464th case is a 51-year-old female from Washington Twp.   The 1465th case is a 21-year-old male from Monroe Twp.   The 1466th case is a 44-year-old female from Deptford.   The 1467th case is a 58-year-old female from Westville.   The 1468th case is a 72-year-old female from Monroe Twp.   The 1469th case is a 40-year-old female from Deptford.   The 1470th case is a 38-year-old female from Glassboro.  

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.   The fourth Gloucester County COVID-19 testing date has been scheduled for Thursday, May 7.   Residents 18 and older with symptoms of COVID-19 must call (856) 218-4142 to be prescreened.   Please have your insurance information available at this time. Once prescreened, an appointment time will be scheduled.  

Gloucester County has confirmed that several residents ill with COVID-19 have died. Gloucester County now has 63 confirmed deaths.   The 53rd patient death was a 62-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 54th patient death was an 89-year-old female for Deptford.   The 55th patient death was an 85-year-old male from Deptford.   The 56th patient death was an 85-year-old female from Deptford.   The 57th patient death was a 75-year-old female from Deptford.   The 58th patient death was an 89-year-old male from Greenwich.   The 59th patient death was a 95-year-old female from Deptford.   The 60th patient death was an 85-year-old male from Woodbury.   The 61st patient death was an 85-year-old male from Deptford.   The 62nd patient death was an 83-year-old male from Washington Twp.   The 63rd patient death was a 64-year-old male from Deptford.   At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.   New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

People should call their doctor or hospital before going so healthcare staff can provide instructions on getting care.   Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
