Gloucester County Updates On COVID-19

As of Saturday, May 2, 2020 Gloucester County has conducted 5,903 total tests. Of these cases, 4,531 have come back negative and 23 are pending.
Today, Gloucester County has an additional 60 cases to report. Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 1,349. Of those cases:

The 1291st case is an 89-year-old male from Greenwich.
The 1292nd case is a 40-year-old female from Pitman.
The 1293rd case is a 45-year-old female from West Deptford.
The 1294th case is a 23-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1295th case is an 87-year-old female from Deptford.
The 1296th case is a 60-year-old female from Westville.
The 1297th case is a 44-year-old male from Woolwich.

The fourth Gloucester County COVID-19 testing date has been scheduled for Thursday, May 7th. Residents 18 and older with symptoms of COVID-19 must call (856) 218-4142 to be prescreened. Please have your insurance information available at this time. Once prescreened, an appointment time will be scheduled.
The Gloucester County Department of Health has confirmed that several residents ill with COVID-19 have died. Gloucester County now has 51 confirmed deaths.
The 49th patient death was 71-year-old female from Deptford.
The 50th patient death is a 75-year-old male form Wenonah.
The 51st patient death is an 83-year-old female from Deptford.
The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.
At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Please note that the call center is not able to diagnose or give medical recommendations. Healthcare providers should be contacted if medical advice is needed. People should call their doctor or hospital before going so healthcare staff can provide instructions on getting care. Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
