Gloucester County Updates On COVID-19

As of Thursday, April 30, 2020 Gloucester County has conducted 5,431 total tests. Of these cases, 4,166 have come back negative and 25 are pending.
Today, Gloucester County has an additional 30 cases to report. Of those cases:
5 cases are Deptford residents (5 female);3 cases are Franklin Twp. residents (1 male/ 2 female);1 case is a Greenwich Twp. resident (female);1 case is a Harrison Twp. resident (female);1 case is a Logan resident (male);4 cases are Monroe Twp. residents (4 female);1 case is a Newfield resident (female);1 case is a Paulsboro resident (male);1 case is a Swedesboro resident (female);4 cases are Washington Twp. residents (1 male/ 2 female/ 1 unknown);2 cases are West Deptford residents (1 male/ 1 female);5 cases are Woodbury residents (5 female); and 1 case is a Woolwich resident (male).
Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 case count is now 1,239. The fourth Gloucester County COVID-19 testing date has been scheduled for Thursday, May 7.
Residents 18 and older with symptoms of COVID-19 must call (856) 218-4142 to be prescreened. Phone lines will be open Friday, May 1 at 8:30 a.m.
Please have your insurance information available at this time. Once prescreened, an appointment time will be scheduled.
The Gloucester County Department of Health has confirmed that several residents ill with COVID-19 have died. Gloucester County now has 47 confirmed deaths.
The 41st patient death was a 78-year-old female from National Park
The 42nd patient death was a 77-year-old male from Washington Twp.
The 43rd patient death was a 71-year-old female from Deptford.
The 44th patient death was a 75-year-old female from Woodbury.
The 45th patient death was an 83-year-old female from Deptford
The 46th patient death was a 66-year-old female from Deptford
The 47th patient death was a 73-year-old female from Deptford.
The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.
At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Please note that the call center is not able to diagnose or give medical recommendations. Healthcare providers should be contacted if medical advice is needed. People should call their doctor or hospital before going so healthcare staff can provide instructions on getting care.
Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
