GLOUC COUNTY VETERAN’S CEMETERY MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY CANCELED THIS YEAR

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gloucester County’s Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, May 24th will be canceled this year for the safety of our veterans, families, and attendees. Each year, Gloucester County residents gather to honor our veterans at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Monroe Twp. Due to Executive Orders and CDC guidelines, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 ceremony. We understand the disappointment this may bring to our residents and our veterans. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused us to miss a lot of milestones and special events this year. The sacrifices we make during this time is crucial to flattening the curve so we can get back to celebrating these special moments together as a community. We always aim to have a meaningful and dignified ceremony each year. Although we can’t all gather together this year, we ask everyone to please take time this Memorial Day to honor and remember the men and women who have given their all for this great country. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

We will honor all of our veterans that were to be added to the memorial this year at next year’s 2021 ceremony. We believe that every veteran deserves the proper and well-deserved recognition that they have earned. This is very disappointing but is in the best interest of all.###
