GLOUC COUNTY COVID-19 UPDATE

The Gloucester County Department of Health confirmed Wednesday night that a resident ill with COVID-19 has died. Gloucester County now has seven confirmed deaths.
The seventh patient death was a 79-year-old female.
The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services and Office of Emergency Management have announced 74 more positive COVID-19 cases in Gloucester County.
As of Thursday, April 9, 2020 we have conducted 2,119 total tests. Of these cases, 1,686 have come back negative and 16 are pending.
This brings Gloucester County’s total positive COVID-19 cases to 417.
The 344th case is a 63-year-old female from Washington Township.
The 345th case is a 55-year-old female from Elk.
The 346th case is a 63-year-old male from Woolwich.
The 347th case is a 43-year-old female from Woolwich.
The 348th case is a 45-year-old female from Washington Township.
The 349th case is a 53-year-old male from Franklin Township/.
The 350th case is a 65-year-old female from South Harrison Township.
The 351st case is a 60-year-old male from Washington Township.

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.
At this time, the overall threat of COVID-19 to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. A mask should only be worn if a healthcare professional recommends it.
New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
