GLASSBORO MAN IN CUSTODY ON MURDER CHARGE
Michael D. White age 28, of Glassboro, was taken into custody Sunday (10/29) when he surrendered to police on charges he fatally shot 58-year-old Michael Fleming, of Glassboro, as the victim sat in a parked car at the Hollybush Garden apartments early on Saturday (10/28).
Following an investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Glassboro Police Department, White was charged with first-degree murder, purposely and/or knowingly; aggravated assault by pointing a weapon; unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Glassboro police were dispatched to the Hollybush Garden apartments, where both Fleming and White lived, at 1:44 a.m. Saturday and found Fleming deceased in the driver seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head/neck area. Through information investigators received, White was identified as the suspect in the shooting. He was not found in his apartment and a search for his whereabouts began using a K-9 team.
Assisting agencies were the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department, the New Jersey State Police, the Fugitive Investigations Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Middletown DE Police Department.
