Frances Marie Freese (nee Bregler) on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Age 93. Mother of Kenneth W. Strockbine (Christine C.), Alice M. Smith (late William), and the late Alan G. Strockbine. Grandmother of Bryan C. Strockbine (Danielle), Michael W. Strockbine (Michelle), Courtney L. Strockbine, Scott Woosley (Dawn), Tracee Baugh, and Tina Lee Howard (Ron). Great-grandmother of Mikey Strockbine, Mia Strockbine, Maci Strockbine, Brayden Strockbine, Sophie Strockbine, Hope Tozer, Zachary Woosley, Kyle Woosley, Jeanine Foree, Abby Baugh, Harrison Baugh, and Bryan Odom (Brenna). Great-great-grandmother of Hope Odom. Sister of Carol A. Langley of Clayton, Chester R. Bregler of Clayton, and the late Elmer Bregler, Alfred “Bud” Bregler, Florence Kolva, Robert F. Bregler, Mary Bregler, Ida H. Bell, Edna E. Goldy, and Jesse “Pete” Bregler. Daughter of the late Thomas M. and Lydia H. (nee Alexander) Bregler.
Born and raised in Clayton where she was a lifelong resident, Frances was a 1947 graduate of Clayton High School. She worked a number of years for the Silver-Chamberlin Brush Company in Clayton and later for Struthers-Dunn in Pitman as a welder of electronic boards used in the aerospace industry, retiring after 32 years. Frances was an active member of the Clayton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years. She was also very active with the Clayton Senior Citizens serving as president for 28 years. Frances was a diehard fan and longtime season ticket holder of the Philadelphia Phillies and loved tending to the flowers in the gardens around her home. She was a devoted member of the Trinity UMC Church in Clayton for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312 with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM.
