FOUR CHARGED IN 2 PAULSBORO SHOOTINGS
Three Paulsboro men and a 15-year-old juvenile have been charged in connection with two shootings in the borough last week that left one man critically wounded and one of the suspects also hospitalized with a gunshot wound. The shootings occurred July 12th about 5 a.m. in the 1000 block of Spruce Street and July 14th shortly before midnight at Spruce and Washington streets. In the July 14th incident, a 24-year-old Paulsboro man was wounded and is in Cooper Medical Center in critical condition.
Arrested 7/18 during execution of a search warrant at a Buck Street residence was Dwayne Demby age 28, of Paulsboro. He was charged with illegal possession of a weapon (9 mm handgun) by a convicted felon. Charged 7/18 with unlawful possession of a weapon (40 cal. handgun), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon in connection with the 7/14 incident was Anthony Vanblarcom age 32 of Paulsboro. He was wounded in that shooting and is in Cooper Medical Center under sheriff’s guard.
Lazzaro Vanblarcom age 32, of Paulsboro was charged 7/18 during execution of a search warrant at a Commerce Street address with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and endangering the welfare of a child. His charges pertain to both shooting incidents. Demby and Lazzaro Vanblarcom, brother of Anthony, are in custody pending detention hearings.
The Paulsboro juvenile was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses in connection with the 7/12 shooting and is being held in a youth detention center. Assisting in the arrests were the Gloucester County Special Weapons and Tactics Team, the New Jersey State Police TEAMS unit and the Paulsboro Police Department.
