FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH – Franklin Twp./Gloucester County NJ

On Thursday, April 29th at around 11:30 AM, Franklin Township police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of W. Malaga and Coles Mill Roads according to FTPD press release. Upon arrival, a dump truck and SUV were discovered in the middle of the intersection. The driver of the SUV was later identified as Brooke Hansen of Williamstown, who was entrapped in the vehicle. Franklin Township police officers, Franklinville Fire Department and Janvier Fire Department immediately began to attempt to gain entrance into the vehicle. Upon entry of the driver door, Paramedics and EMT’s made several attempts but were unsuccessful. The driver of the dump truck, Hakan Yilmaz of Delran, suffered a minor leg injury. Witnesses on the scene stated that they observed Hansen traveling south on Malaga Road towards the intersection where she failed to stop at the traffic signal and struck the dump truck that was crossing the intersection that was traveling west on Coles Mill Road. The incident is currently under investigation by Officer M. Neher of the Franklin Township Police Department. Assisting on the scene was Franklinville Fire Company, Janvier Fire Company, Gloucester County EMS and Inspira Paramedics.
