Edward J. “Ed” Anderson, age 51, of Franklinville NJ suddenly passed away on Monday September 27, 2021. Ed was absolutely a devoted husband to Tracy, Father of Edward (Brittany) Anderson Jr., Sara (D.J.) Hitchner, and Luke Anderson-Fratto. Grandchildren: Anderson (4), future grandchild Arya Michelle Hitchner due 3/4/2022. Ed was the son to the late John and Gerry Anderson and is survived by his brother to the late Marcie (Doug/Patty) Newkirk, Mike (Kerstan) Anderson, Russell (Sandra) Anderson and Steven (Lauren) Anderson. A loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Son-in-law to Joel and Linda File. Even with his wife’s knowledge and blessing Ed had several other “wives”, Tina Bottaro, Doreen DeMarco, Kim Francis, Melissa Hedman and Deana Tycik his “beloved work wife”. To know Ed was to absolutely love him, he was a devoted friend to all and would do anything for anybody without hesitation.
Born in Woodbury and raised in Franklinville, a lifetime resident of Little Mill Rd. Ed was a 1988 graduate of Delsea Regional High school who excelled in wrestling, baseball and football and continued to assist with the Delsea Athletic program until his passing. Ed also volunteered with township baseball, soccer and football within the community he loved so much by coaching, volunteering and always making a difference for the children in his beloved community. Township baseball many, many years ago is where Ed met Tracy the love of his life, after that they were virtually inseparable. Ed was also very involved in professional arm wrestling right out of high school and was State and National Champion of 7 years. Ed also took pride in assisting the recreation committee since its inception with the planning and executing of Franklin Township Community Day. Ed proudly served his community for 28 years as a hard-working DPW individual and was always considered Franklin Township’s “Unofficial Mayor”.
Ed loved to travel with the love of his life to the Florida Keys, Grassy Key and Key West. The keys where their dream destination to retire and live out the remainder of their lives in the warm Caribbean sunshine. Ed enjoyed spending his fall/winters hunting locally or at his hunting club “Jersey Three Square”, Bradford County PA. When Ed was not consumed with Delsea Athletics or hunting meetings he enjoyed spending Friday evenings with extended family and friends at his and Tracy’s back yard bar called “Anchors”. He was a long-time member of the Woodstown Moose Lodge and the Clayton Elks.
Ed had thousands of friends and would always greet everyone with a big huge smile, he will be deeply missed by everyone, but the love of his life is forever heartbroken by her unsurmountable loss.
