DROWNING LAKE GARRISON
Press Release Elk Township Police Department, Gloucester County, New Jersey
On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:08 pm, the Elk Township Police Department responded to a call for a missing person, last seen in the water at Lake Garrison. Approximately 22 minutes after receiving the call, an unresponsive 19-year-old male was located in the water. The victim was transported to Inspira Hospital in Mullica Hill by Gloucester County EMS, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Daniel Miranda age 19 of San Marcos, Guatemala. A joint investigation by the Elk Township Police Department, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, and Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office has concluded the death to be an accidental drowning.
