Douglas Durham, Sr. of Clayton on Monday, October 3, 2022. Age 64. Husband of 26 years to Audrey Cheryl Durham (nee Clark). Father of Peter Brown, Jr.; Danielle Durham; Sharon Hoos (Michael); and Douglas Durham, Jr. Grandfather of Andrew Brown, Jayda Marshall, Rayael Marshall, Christopher Choy, Daniel Allen, Demetrius Boyizigies, Brandon Hoos, Andrew Hoos, Adriana Boyizigies, Wykira Kelly, Kionni Johnson, and Kyla Durham. Son of the late William L. “Jake” and Dorothy L. (nee McGinnis) Durham. Brother of William “Bill” Durham (Helen). Uncle of Lisa “Barney” Durham and Nicole Durham.
Born in Camden and a life-long resident of Clayton, Douglas attended Clayton High School and was part of the 1975-76 Championship Basketball team and a member of the Clayton High School Hall of Fame. He was a self-employed over-the-road truck driver working for ABC Tank, J&D Trucking, and later A&D Transport. Douglas enjoyed riding his Harley Davison motorcycle and loved driving and working on his famed El Camino that he was continuously rebuilding over the years. In 1989 along with his brother Bill, Douglas won an off-shore boat racing championship in his boat “Bad Move”. He was a devoted NASCAR fan, especially of the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr., enjoyed watching car shows, and was a die-hard 49ers fan. Douglas was well-known for his “Ivy League Education in Sarcasm”.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.
