Dorothy Joan Beebe, 82, of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on September 17, 2024. She is survived by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Charles Beebe, with whom she shared nearly 61 years of marriage. Dorothy was a devoted mother to her children: John (Cindy) Beebe, Jr. of Sicklerville, Michael (Nancy Nichols) Beebe of Glassboro, and Anne (Thomas) Cowley of Glassboro. Her cherished legacy also includes her grandchildren: Melody Beebe, Jacob Beebe, Bridget Beebe, Tara Bendig, Courtney Beebe, Faith Cowley, and Brandon Cowley. She was the loving sister of Nancy Harrigan of Philadelphia and was predeceased by her sisters Anne Unger, Margaret Holloway, and Patricia Beach. Dorothy was the daughter of Jacob and Anne (nee McGonigle) Beach.
Born on August 14, 1942, in Glassboro, NJ, Dorothy was a proud lifelong resident of her beloved hometown. She graduated from Glassboro High School in the class of 1960 and began her career as a bookkeeper at Smith Kline & French Pharmaceutical in Philadelphia, PA. Recently, she devoted the last 20+ years to serving at Masso’s Catering in Glassboro.
Dorothy was known for her deep love of the beach, where she found joy in the sun and sand. She also enjoyed the excitement of the casino, particularly the slot machines. An avid doll collector, she took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren and was renowned for her incredible cooking. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, during which she hosted over 50 guests, ensuring each family left with a full meal to-go.
With a passion for gardening, Dorothy loved planting flowers that created a beautiful environment for her family and friends. She cherished spending quality time with her children, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Her warm spirit and dedication to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
